Artist Bio

Sudbury Ontario
When I grew up there was a lathe in the basement and it always fascinated me. We were unable to use it because of missing parts. But, in the early 90s I built my first lathe. After experimenting with different little projects, I was enthralled and hooked. After doing some self-learning and limited tools, I began to fabricate bowls. When I was working Orangeville, I took advantage of the situation to attend the International Wood Working Show, which introduced me to exotic woods from around the world. I was able to buy special tools and exotic woods. I also observed different techniques during demonstrations that gave me the incentive to enhance my skill set. In 2005, I joined the Ontario Woodturning Guild where I had the opportunity to see different techniques and take classes to refine my skills. Since moving back to Sudbury for my retirement, I been filling my time playing with different techniques and working on diverse projects.
While attending an international wood show in the early 90’s, he watched a wood turner produce a small bowl and was fascinated by the technique. He then started turning bowls and challenged himself to do more difficult pieces. To this day, he is still mesmerized by the natural «Hidden Secrets» of wood. The grain, texture and colors are revealed as the wood is transformed to a one of a kind work of art.
