Paul has always been a fine artist at heart. At age 13, he discovered his creative passion for drawing and oil painting sparked by a “Learn to Draw” kit he received as a Christmas gift from his grandmother in 1971. This newly awakened passion for visual expression fuelled his creative exploration through his elementary, secondary and college years, eventually leading to a successful career as an accredited, professional graphic designer and owner of a Sudbury-based design agency established in 1987 which continues to operate over three decades later.
In 2009, Paul revived his passion for painting as a form of relaxation amidst the day-to-day demands of the business world, and to stir the inner artist in him once again. He paints in acrylic and oil and explores various directions in subject matter.
Paul resides in Sudbury, Ontario.
I enjoy painting various subject matter and although more of a realist, I use colour and brushwork with a gestural focus in mind to express energy and contrast play.
I explore opportunities for engaging compositions that are conceptual in nature and draw the viewer into each piece.
