She has sold her work at the La Cloche Art Show, Manitoulin Art Tour, local area art shows and privately across Ontario. Her art has been chosen and toured with the juried Northern Ontario Art Assoc. Show (NOAA). Sue is a member at the Northern Artist Gallery in Sudbury. She is secretary of the Manitoulin Fine Arts Assoc., MFAA, http://manitoulinart.com, and member of the NOAA. Sue is a long time La Cloche Art Show volunteer.
Sue has always had a great interest in art. After starting in the work force, she won a scholarship with Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis, which she worked on part time by mail. She dabbled with painting, photography and a variety of crafts. And in those rare quiet moments she sketched. When they retired and moved to Espanola, Sue saw an ad for a watercolor class, decided to try it and never looked back. It brought back wonderful memories of her early painting days. It has become part of what she is.

I have always had a great interest in dabbling in a variety of art forms. It is part of what I am. I find my muse in the landscape and wildlife of rural Ontario and out on the waters of Georgian Bay. Light and shadows, rocks and water, the subtle, delicate forms of plants, textures of fur and feathers and expressions of people. They catch my attention and inspire me.
“Everyone has their own unique taste in art. The artist can only strive to satisfy their own soul and hope that others may find a connection.” Susan M Cairns
